Ian and Eddie are taking part in the Ramshackle rally which involves driving to Bucharest in aid of raising money for Brian House Children's Hospice.
The car driven must be worth no more than £250 and dressed up with a theme. Teams compete on a voyage of self-discovery taking in sights and scenes along the way in what will become the craziest banger rally on the European circuit. This is all before driving the mighty Transfagarasan Highway, “The best driving road in the world” (named by Top Gear).
This year the theme is "Modness" and they will be driving a classic Honda Accord with 164000 on the clock. Ian and Eddie start at Calais and will drive to Strasbourg, Slovenia, Budapest, Sibiu Romania and finally driving to Bucharest.
Brian House Children's Hospice is a specialist unit within Trinity Hospice specialising in palliative care for children. It is a fully equipped children’s hospice, not a holiday centre, and caters entirely for children who live on Fylde Coast. As one of only a handful of local children’s hospices in the UK it currently supports over 80 families. Once they have reached Bucharest they will travel back in the car and visit the hospice to pass on any donations we collect over the time of the whole journey.
Ian and Eddie visited Blackpool Honda before they set off to Calais. Cox Motor Group wishes them the best on their journey.
