Bright, futuristic and fun, that’s how we’d describe the new ID. Buzz. This MPV is certainly turning heads, and not just for its choice of paint colours. Volkswagen opted for a truly unique design for both the exterior and interior of the Buzz, marking it a car of the future.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is fully electric, claiming up to 258 miles of range. It’s quite an impressive EV, especially taking into account the heaps of space Volkswagen provide in this 5-seater family car. It’s practical, yet far from boring. We’ve highlighted just some of our favourite features the all-new ID. Buzz has to offer:
- An Enormous Boot Space
The ID. Buzz boasts a remarkable 1,100 litres of boot space, far more than you’d find in any other equivalent family SUVs. On the Style model, a luggage floor or multi-Flex board as Volkswagen call it, allows you to flatten the back seats completely, giving you the option to convert this space into a temporary bed.
- Great Towing Capabilities
The Buzz also features a hidden tow bar, which has the capabilities to tow up to 1,000 KG, allowing you to tow something like a trailer. This feature adds the potential for even more storage on top of the huge amounts already provided inside the Buzz.
- Optional Rapid Charge
The ID. Buzz battery can charge from 5% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes on a rapid charge, saving you time on those longer journeys. They clearly understand the frustration EV owners have when waiting to restart their trips, especially with bored kids in the back.
- Buzz Box – Storage Console
Completely exclusive to the ID. Buzz is the Buzz Box, a removable storage compartment found between the driver and front passenger. It has been designed as an efficient space for storage, giving you the option to remove the box completely when needed.
- Sustainable Interior Choices
Not only is the ID. Buzz zero-emissions, it’s also made from recycled materials. Volkswagen have opted for some seat covers, floor coverings and the roof liner, to be made from recycled products. Specifically, in some parts of the ID. Buzz, Volkswagen use a fabric which consists of 10% plastic collected from the oceans and 90% recycled plastic bottles.
- Functional Backseats
Volkswagen have really thought about comfort for your back seat passengers, designing seats that have the option to recline. In addition to this, the backseats also feature a folding table, which can be used for eating at or as a resting space for your laptop and tablets.
- Adaptive Ambient Lighting
The ID. Buzz Style includes 30-colour adaptive interior ambient lighting options, an impressive selection, while the standard still offers you 10 colour choices.
With a five-star NCAP score ahead of its official launch, we’re confident this family car will provide you with everything you need from safety to innovative storage solutions. The ID. Buzz has also been rated highly by experts, Top Gear themselves have given the ID. Buzz a 9/10 rating, stating it’s ‘beguilingly simple and yet entirely uplifting’, hence why it has been crowned TG’s electric car of the year. Prices start from £57,115 and orders have officially opened, so if you’re looking for something that stands out from the ordinary family car, this vehicle is definitely for you.
